What’s special about writing for B2B?

Would you interact in the same way with your biggest wholesale client and an individual retail customer?

Both would expect you to be polite, confident and convincing about your products and your brand. However, your client (B2B) comes with the promise of a high-worth, long-term relationship while demanding solutions to a very different set of problems compared to your retail customers (B2C).

B2B clients would treat your products, and the content around it, from a higher level of understanding and inspection. They’ll weigh the pros and cons of using your products and services vis-a-vis someone else’s. They’ll judge how well you might fit into their culture. Would you be able to solve particular (or a series of) problems for them? How collaborative and flexible your team is? How attentive your service agents are?

As a B2B provider, you must convey potential clients that you can make their lives easier. Over 91 percent B2Bs use content marketing to reach out to clients, for creating product and brand awareness, and for building the strong base of informed following that drives long term success.

Where do I fit in? 

For 20 years now, I am working closely with businesses and corporations in the manufacturing, oil and construction industries, in IoT and Big Data, health (diabetes), wellness, nutrition & fitness domains, developing and delivering their micro and macro level content requirements. A Post Graduation degree in Economics drew me to specialize in the fintech industry where I cover the Indian and international fintech scene for global clients.

I strategize and develop web content and blog posts, content marketing articles, and digital marketing campaigns (SEO and social media marketing) for the above clients. I write feature stories, profiles, and thought leadership articles for international Fintech trade and B2B magazines.
